Even though Toby and Marcie both graduated from The College of Wooster, and had two overlapping years there, they didn't really meet until the summer of 2000 at the wedding of Molly Hilger and Chris Pugh. Toby was a groomsman (and a dashing one at that, with his orange spiky hair) and Marcie was a bridesmaid (and a charming one at that).  Toby and Marcie traded sarcastic comments and witty comebacks throughout the weekend and then did what any two people did to flirt in the early 00s - they IMed.  During Marcie's senior year at Wooster, the two dated and Marcie spent a lot of time in Columbus.  After dating for 7 or 8 months, they stopped dating and only communicated occasionally. Marcie moved to Columbus after graduating in 2001, and while they did keep in touch, their lives stayed pretty separate until the fall of 2006. 

In the fall of 2006, Marcie and Toby started communicating pretty regularly and they traveled to New York to spend New Year's Eve with Molly and Chris. The following weekend, Toby went to Youngstown with Marcie for a surprise birthday party. He spent a lot of time with the family - and still decided to date her! A month later, Marcie joined Toby for a trip to Zanesville over Valentine's Day weekend.  They alternated weekends in Columbus and Wooster, until Marcie moved to Columbus in the summer of 2007.  Since that time, they've traveled, bought furniture, run in a few 5Ks, and spent holidays with the families. They spend most of their time at home with their little dog, Squirt, and their big cat, Leo. When they're not making plans for the upcoming wedding, they're busy working around the house, watching PTI, and playing around on the internet.
